Time To Work On The Tahoe

When I bought my Tahoe last year it didn't take long to come up with a list of things I wanted to do to it. However, life plans completely went on hold when my wife's leukemia relapsed shortly afterward. Obviously, doing any sort of work on a vehicle was the last thing on my mind. Unfortunately, Angela passed away two weeks ago. I found myself staring at the wall and decided it was time to do something to occupy my time.

 

I ordered an Airaid cold air intake and Magnaflow cat-back exhaust with a 50-series Big Block muffler and single out-the-side tail. I swapped out the intake last night and I'll do the exhaust this weekend. The intake is great, I love being able to hear the engine breathe. I do also plan to get a Blackbear tune.

Staying busy is a great idea to keep your mind occupied. Sounds like a great plan you have for the tahoe. Keep the photo's coming as you progress.

As to the mods, I just put a CAI on my Sierra a week ago and really like it. When cruising you can't notice anything different. when you stomp on it, you hear a loud roar and the truck takes off. My kids love it.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. She just turned 27 in the hospital and has been fighting this for the better part of four years with three bone marrow transplants.

As for the exhaust, the muffler isn't on yet and I'm already wondering if I should have gone with something louder than the 50-series Big Block. I'll get it put on anyway and see how it sounds. Do these mufflers have a "burn-in" period where they'll get louder as they get broke in?
