Help - Metra / Axxess Ipod Interface

I recently purchased and installed a Metra/Axxess GMIP01 iPod interface adapter to my 2004 Z71 Tahoe (Bose, XM, etc). I now realize this is one of their original interfaces and is a bit dated. That said, the installation went fine and the iPod is operational BUT I am unable to see the artist, song title, or album on my factory unit (as stated by Metra) unless I push the Recall button. It then displays all of the above one time and then goes back to a displa of D1 01 (meaning playlist 1, track 1). I was wondering if anyone else has/had this problem and how it was resolved. I would rather have the display show all the iPod information all the time. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
