Will this part #15287179 work for 2006 Chevy to?

Yes, that will work for a GMT800.

It WON'T work for a GMT900.

Repeat, DO NOT ORDER that part for the GMT900 series trucks, it will not fit.

Yup, that part shows as being for a GMT800 Escalade. Just have to find the part number for that piece on a GMT900 Escalade. Presumably it would work, but :rollin:

I can't recall the exact details of my research but when I did mine on my GMT900 Sierra, I do recall that the parts were NOT interchangeable anymore. I'd love to hear that's not the case but I'm 99% sure those are the facts.

I was at the GMC dealer today and looked at many of the escalades and Yukons. The new body style ones will indeed fit our trucks. I didnt see this post until after I returned Or I would have gotten the part number from them. I just did the same mod yesterday and was looking for a better solution. I will be ordering one tommorrow. I will let you know what the part number is afterwards.

Please let us know. It'd be great for everyone if we were wrong. I don't think we are though.

What's wrong with the balck silicon idea? :rollin:

That seems like the easiest and longest lasting?

Nothing wrong with it but an OEM solution with no hole is both better looking and longer lasting.

Will do Daddy, I hope they fit also. I wonder if they would let me pop mine off and swap on the lot real quick just to check? :rollin:

Just go in there without your truck and ask to take an Escalade on a test drive. If the salesman lets you go without him in the truck with you, go someplace and do the swap where they won't see you do it. Upon your return, hit up their parts dept. and buy one for your truck.

More than one way to skin that cat....

Daddy,

Havent got back to the dealer yet but I did take a look at an Suburban today at the UPS store. They dont have an antenna either. Might be another option. Let you know when I get to the dealer, they still havent fixed my intermitent cruise control after 9 tries.

I bought my truck the week the new body style hit the floors in southern Cali. Since day one the cruise controls works intermitent. I now have 38,000 miles on her and I have been to three dealers in Cali, 1 in New Mexico, and 2 in Carolina. They have replaced the Body control module twice, the Brake switch three times (I even took them the updated part number for the new switch in the Service Bulletin that they didnt know about), they replaced both taillights and high mount stop lamp, and once the dealer in Cali told me just to turn my truck off and it would reset. Not a good day for him as I told the GM and asked how I should turn my truck off if I was trying to use the cruise control on the freeway. Funny thing is I tried it and that didnt work either.

So its back to the dealer for a 10th time for the same problem. Anyone got an idea what it could be? The dealers sure dont know whats going on with it.

:omg: Go make GM buy back your lemon and we'll get back on topic.... I'm really interested hearing that the Suburban doesn't have an antenna either. I have some time tomorrow, so I might just have to go do some investigating.

WOW! 9? :omg:

Holy crap.

OK Guys what a great way to make a new guy feel welcome, I love my truck and would never trade it in :) ...........I was on topic just replying to Daddy why I go to the dealer so much and that I will be looking at options for us from the factory for the end cap. I dont see either one of you driving around watching out for other options like the suburban.

OK, I verified today that the NBS Suburban/Tahoe will not work on our trucks. Good news for Avalanche Owners is that it will work for them. Problem for the trucks is the bulge in the hood. All the others have a flat hood. Still no dice on the Cadillac piece, I went to the Chevy dealer and didnt have time to stop by GMC/Cadillac to check the Escalade again.
