Crankshaft Position Sensor?

Hi,

 

I have a 2000 GMC SAVANA 2500 with a 5.0L V8 and recently it just stalls or cuts out while driving. It has happened 3 times now, I didn't push it or anything just normal driving. I have checked my distributor, cap, rotor, wires, and plugs and all of it seems fine if not perfect. So today I checked underneath the truck and found that the Crankshaft Position Sensor was loose, could this be causing my stall problem? It only happens while the truck is moving.
