Tech 2 With Blackbear Tune

I will be putting in my backup camera this weekend. The dealership I go to can do the tech 2 stuff. Once I get it installed and then take it to get programmed will they notice my tune? I really don't want to loose my warranty.

 

 

Also, what exactly is a tech 2 programmer? Do I just tell the mechanic that I installed a backup camera and need it programmed or???

Just ask them not to flash your PCM. Worst case scenario, they flash it and you just ask Justin for a free re-tune.

I "believe" the adjustment to turn on the backup camera option is in the BCM, not the ECM. From what I've heard, they usually can't "just tell" you have a tune, unless they go digging around, looking for it...

 

Like Jenna said.. Worst-case, you have Justin re-flash your tune.

Yes it is in the BCM, however, some dealers will just do a flash of everything thus erasing the tune.

I know you're more familiar with this stuff than I am, but.... That just seems like more work for them to do, that would serve no real purpose...

Same plug port so they just reflash the whole system, most Techs just push the buttons and don't know what they are doing....

Well it is just a basic tune they re-flash with for your Year/Make/Model. Realistically, it is what they do from the factory.

Pretty much they can't hurt it, unless you don't like the way it runs stock
