What Can I Do To Make It Louder?

X pipe, Y pipe, to 2 smaller magnaflows? Does that make sense? Obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about here  But I would like to stay with magnaflow, but just get more rumble out of it. I currently have 3"SI/ 2.5"DO w/ 4" 45'd rolled tips. Muffler size is 21" overall x 5" x 11" I think. Any advice and how to's are greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance everybody... Oh, and if you want to see how it sounds currently you can check it out on the bottom of my sig. I have 2 videos, I would look at just the exhaust one. Thanks again...

X pipes will give you a better exhaust flow and enhance the sound created by whatever magnaflow you get. The sound will be similar to the Corvette. :rollin:

Yeah, shorter muffler would make it louder. But it sounds pretty good as it is. You can always go louder, but doesn't necessarily mean it'll sound better. :rollin:

An X pipe is a balance pipe. It aids in creating a vacuum effect known as scavenging. It will not help you for your current set up. An X-pipe is for "true dual" exhaust. It will also not make your truck louder. I love how an X/H pipe make a vehicle sound, but it will actually quiet them down a bit. But unless you want to redo your entire system, it doesn't matter.

Check Jegs.com for a magnaflow....part number 642-12198 is a 14 inch SI 3/DO 2.5

and part number 642-12288 is an 18 inch.

Speaking of Magnaflow, u get the Nova fixed up?

No, I haven't worked on it much yet. We may have to pull the heads. We are going to have to get busy though, if we are going to get it done before May 15-17th. All the plug wires look good, and are not that old, but I think we will replace them first. Just to be sure.

You and me both! All this nice weather and not being able to drive it is making me sick. Don't get me wrong, I love driving the camaro, but I want to drive my own car!

thanks 66nova for going into detail about an x pipe. i really don't want to redo my setup like you said, so i've been eye balling that 14" body muffler. i currently have model #12588 which is a 22" body muffler. what would you say would be the effects of going smaller? i really love magnaflows sound, think it will be a real obvious difference in that deep tone? thanks again...
