:lol::lol: Well this could be considered outdoor stuff............... :lol: I hit a nice big deer this morning and just destroyed the front of my chevy :thumbs::) .... Now here comes all the fun stuff of going thru insureance and all the phone calls....oh joy...i miss my truck. The air bads never went off ... is the normal? It said on my dash after service air bags, but no deployment...hmmmmm!

Hit deer are typically unedible as they bleed internally and it destroys the meat. That's what I was told anyway. :thumbs:

Sorry to hear about it man...At least you have insurance.

 

 

As for the airbags...They don't go off until the vehicle compacts past a certain point (there are sensors on the frame, not the body (as far as I know anyway). Deer generally aren't big enough to set them off. If it had gone off, you'd probably have crashed and caused even more damage. Airbags are a pretty violent last resort to save your life, they don't go off unless you've REALLY smacked something of substance.

Brush guard FTW!

 

Actually, if you hit the front 1/2 of the deer, you can salvage the back to legs. Still lots of good meat there.
