Jeff Gordon, Wife To Divorce

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP)--Jeff Gordon's wife has filed for divorce after seven years of marriage to the four-time Winston Cup champion.

Brooke Gordon said the marriage is ``irretrievably broken'' in court papers filed Friday, the Palm Beach Post reported Saturday. It did not specify the problems.

She and her husband are considered the highest-profile couple in NASCAR, appearing together in commercials and magazine articles.

Jeff Gordon, in Darlington, S.C., for the Carolina Dodge Dealers 400, would not elaborate on the report Saturday.

``I hope you guys can respect me at this time,'' he said. ``We're going to say something next week about it.''

Brooke Gordon is seeking exclusive use of the couple's oceanfront home, valued at $9 million, as well as alimony, two cars and periodic use of their boats and an airplane, the newspaper said.

Gordon's 32-year-old wife also wants her husband to continue to pay the salaries of their housekeepers, maintenance workers and chef.

Jennifer Brooke Sealey was a Miss Winston when she met Gordon in victory lane after a race at Daytona International Speedway. They married Nov. 26, 1994, and have no children.

Jeff Gordon is in his 10th full season in Winston Cup. The 30-year-old driver has won four championships, 58 races and more than $45 million in prize money.

Isn't that what Jack Welch said too (retired GE CEO)? After 13 years his wife will be taking him to the ringers. There prenup ran out at 10 years,... but he cheated on her, so I guess he owes her something. Hmmm... estimated networth of 638 milliion???

She'll be happy and so will Brooke!!!

Well, I can certainly speculate on why they are getting a divorce.

But first of all I have to ask.....

I don't feel sorry for him one bit, as a matter of fact, I feel sorry for Brooke cause she's been "Gordonized". :but:

Wait a minute, ALmost 10 years, and no kids? Ok, maybe she hasn't.......

Yeah it is true, even posted on the NASCAR page. Gordon said that he will comment on the divorce situation on Monday...good for her, hopefully she can recover from the tarnishment of gordon...

Okay all you Gordon Haters! Whatever you think about Gordon, I hate to tell you, that when you have 45 million + all those endorsements, girls like Brooke are a dime a dozen. I am going to step out on the limb and say that "she" wasn't getting the job done. Not that I condone or endorse that type of behavior, but hey to each man his own.Time is money and if she ain't got the time...... :sideways: ;)

Yeah, I would think all this "Periodic" and "Exclusive use" would be a bit awkward, and it probably is more trouble than it's worth He would probably be better off just giving her the stuff.
