How much would you charge for the following repairs? (labor only)

1990 jeep cherokee 4.0, 4-speed auto 2wd

rear diff service

pinion seal

rear shocks

front pump seal

rear main seal

oil pan gasket

oil filter housing gasket

This is all for a "brother" of mine that can't afford this to be done at a shop.

Minus parts, $550....

Plus what the hell is "oil filter housing gasket"? You know the new oil filters come with gaskets.

The housing that mounts to the block that the oil filter mounts to. It has 3 o-rings that seal it.

How long do you expect this all to take? Tell him beer and food if its for a "brother." Make sure he helps out too!

Oh it's done already. It took about 10 hours this weekend. On the garage floor, no air tools either.

I was paid $250 cash, plus an amp, sub and wiring. Suyb was $135 new, less than a yr ago, amp was around $300 if I remember right when I bought it about 10 yrs ago, and the wiring is about $80 i think.

So total value minus depreciation is at least $400

EDIT: He fed me on sat. night, and he brought beer.

I didn't want him helping because he is mechanicaly inclined, he screws everything up.

:D

Well thats good. HAHA, I know all about the friends who have zero mechanical skills. I had a couple friends come over to help with my lift. I just told them that there wasn't enough room under the truck. They just handed me tools.
