Does anyone have tips or directions on installing a keyless entry system? I bought an aftermarket system and the directions suck!

If you do not have a FSM for your model & year and a good understanding of electrical circuits do not attempt the install pay to have it done. This truck has passlock and complicates the install.

I had my alarm installed. Too much complication with the new system for me.

If its just keyless entry, then that shouldn't be too hard. You only have to worry about bypassing the passlock if you are doing a remote start. What make and model of keyless entry do you have? I can tell you what wire colors and where to tap into them in your truck.

Appreciate the offer but I broke down and had it done by a shop.

It's funny the things we now expect (demand) in our vehicles. I have an '06 Sierra WT, and of course that did not come with even power door locks. After owning the truck for about 3 months, I couldn't stand it anymore, and had keyless entry installed. I just "needed" it. Now I have SmartKey in my Lexus, and I luv it. Just get in and push a button. BTW, I'm 70 years old, and the changes I've seen in the automotive, and electronics worlds are nothing sort of amazing
