I have a tube of it. It does work, but the scratches have to be pretty light. It has really helped my wife's red Jeep Grand Cherokee more than anything else. She had a ton of little scratches and this stuff has worked pretty well making them unnoticeable, for the most part.

I've seen this product for sale at Lowes. Go to the lumber yard and buy your car care products. : Go figure.

Yep, it works wonders on any scratches that are not very deep into the clearcoat. If they are thru the clear into the paint, forget about it.

+1

I have used the product before on minor scratches and it has done a good job with those but it won't do a thing if you have scratches down to the paint.

I was out looking at the scratchs tonight i took my finger and very lightly rubbed it across one of them and you can't feel anything if it was a deep scratch woulded you feel it pretty good? you can see at least to me it looks like white where the scratch's are . has that gone down to deep ? or would you guys just try this stuff ? what about a fine rubbing compound on it ?

ScratchX for me works great. I use it a lot for the area behind the door handles on my wife's minivan. Her ring scratches the heck out of that area, but the ScratchX makes it look as good as new. It works best if you work it in with "some passion".

Is this stuff idiot proof, or can u ruin ur pant if u work it too hard or use too much?

:D:lol: Good one! i should have asked that ! i used to (one to many years ago) recon. cars for about 2 years did a lot of buffing but its been so long and the stuff they use now is all diffrent i'm afraid i'm going to do something wrong and screw up the paint to.

Is there anything you can do if a scratch is through the clear coat short of sanding it all down and repainting?

A fine brush and some touchup paint is about all you can do for deep scratches unless you repaint.

Can't speak on the ScratchX, but I used Meguiars SwirlX with my Porter Cable and a polishing pad and it worked really well.

Same here! I tend to only use Meguiars at this point.

Yeah, the Scratch X is good stuff! I bought a F150 that had scratches all over the bedsides and doors. It removed 90% of them, most were surface scratches though. As a rule, if you can catch your fingernail in the scratch, it is too deep for it to remove. What is nice about it is, it helps clean the paint and make it much nicer looking and feeling whether there are scratches on it or not. I used it all over the truck before waxing it, and it worked great. Color depth was much improved. Works good for scuff marks too, like when someone slings their door against the paint.

I really like Meguiar's products too, the NXT wax is great!
