Do I have to pass some test to get an answer? I posted a question on the 30th about a 6.5, had a lot of lookers, but no responses!!

I have a 98 3500 w/6.5 that stalls first thing in the morning after about 15 min and restarts immediately then runs about 5 mins and stalls again. When you restart, it will run all day. ANY help will be GREAT.

 

no, no test. just no one knows what the hack is wrong. i'd say - find diesel specific forum, diesels are iffy in their ways.

Take it easy man. Like mentioned above, nobody knew the answer. Have you been over to the diesel place forum?

There are some pretty knowledgeable folks over there that could help you out. I was a member over there for a couple years. Do a search on there and all kinds of stuff should come up.

 

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. When was the fuel filter last changed? Has the lift pump on the frame rail under the driver's seat ever been replaced? Do you hear the lift pump? Is your PMD (pump mounted driver...a black box about the size of a deck of cards on the driver's side of injection pump) still the original? I had to replace that on my old 1995 6.5L diesel because of stalling. Go to the guys on that site with the answers to some of these questions and they can point you in the right direction.
