Tire Pressure

Got a flat yesterday on my 285 BFG ATs in the rear passenger side. 1.5 bolt right through the middle of the tread!

Got it fixed and on the way home noticed the a$$ was just solid. Checked tire pressure and they had it at 80 PSI.

Interested to know what you guys run front and rear. Sticker calls for 50F 80R, but man that is a hard ride in the back.

Thanks

For an HD, thats correct pressure. You can run a little less if you aren't hauling anything. FWIW, I run 50psi in mine.

I've got E rated LT's on my Suburban and when empty (or just passengers in the city) I run 50psi all round at the direction of the tire shop. At a load or when towing, I run 75psi in the rear and 65psi in the front (again at the direction of the tire shop). Then again, mine is just a 1500, no HD components...

an unloaded 2500HD, 50 all around will be just fine (you could even go down to around 40-45 to try to soften up the ride some without any issues).

Then bump up the pressure to 50/80 when you're hauling

I usually run 36-38 front and rear. I have no tire wear problems and the truck rides good.

If you read carefully the 80psi hot is MAX, the psi for your vehicle empty you shouldnt have much more tan 60psi cold check the sticker in the door jamb for correct psi. The front psi is more than adquate for the rear without a load.

I have a 1 ton dually and I run all tires at 75 cold unloaded and air them up to 80 as rated on the tires when I am hauling something.

I don't have the original size tires on my dually they are larger. I go by the pressure advertised on the tires. The factory size is 225/75/16. The current tires are 235/85/16 which are much larger. The circumfrence is 7 inches larger then the orginals. The Firestone HT tires on it call for 80psi COLD for a loaded truck hence I run 75 a lil under that. Hope that clarifies it.

I ended up going with 60 PSI all around yesterday (which is what I think I had in there before) and the ride is back to soft..."truck" soft that is!

I run 60F and 65R in our '07 2500HD parts truck (LT245/75R16 "E" Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor's) It calls for 60F/80R

In my truck I run 36/37 all 'round.
