Newbie Needs Help With Perimeter Lights And Hid's

i've always bought chevy trucks but I just got my first suv and GMC two days ago, my beloved Denali. the question i had is for some reason with my perimeter light setting on and no matter how dark it is, the headlamps dont turn on when i unlock. everything else lights as its supposed to. also i believe its supposed to be equipped with daytime running lamps, but they're never on. any suggestions or advice? also i was considering buying a plug and play 6000 k hid kit for the low beams. any brand recommendations or things to stay away from would be appreciated

I think your DRL's are also your perimeter lights on the GMT800's, at least they were on my 05 Silvy. I would try checking the bulbs if you have not already. You said everything else lights up as it's supposed to correct? I know those bulbs burn out often in some cases.

some people have been known to pull the drl bulbs out, pull the fuse out, or change them to amber bulbs as well. on my 02 avalanche, my low beams came on when unlocking, but im not sure bout the suvs

My 2006, daytime running lights don't turn on till I put it in gear.

If I put it back in park..they turn off.
