Wheel Size Question

I am looking into buying a new set of rims for my 2004 GMC Sierra 1500. I am currently looking at the Dick Cepek DC-1 chrome rims. They are 17x9 6x5.5 -12mm offset. How does this compare with my oem rims. Will these rims stick out farther. I am going to be running the stock size tires so they should not create a rubbing issue.

What's your stock size tire, 265/70R17? If so you will have a problem getting a 265 on a 9" wide wheel. The recommended tire for that rim is a 275/60R17. I personally would go with a 17x8 wheel if you what to keep the stock size tire. as for the they way the wheel sits. It will have a deep dish look and sit a little farther out than the stock wheel.

Im running the stock tire (265/70r17) on a 17x 9 rim and they rub now. Only at full lock and its slightly. So with the stock set up a 275 tire may not work. Then again he has a gmt 800. I have been told those trucks can run 33x12.50 on stock lift.
