Dic Gas Mileage Readout

Recommended Posts

Seeing that most GM trucks "were" made in Oshawa Ontario, I was wondering if the gas mileage readout display is actually Canadian mpg or American? My 07 Silverado cc got 21 mpg on a 150 mile journey.

"Canadian MPG" would be KPG, they don't have a special mile like they have a special football game.

If you were light on the throttle and had a lot of downhill, you could have gotten 21 mpg.

I've gotten 19 average on a tank.

KPG, wtf am I thinking, it would be KPL. Sorry, only had a couple of hours of sleep.

It's easy enough to check it. I checked mine for a few tanks. Seemed pretty much dead on U.S. gallons

Thanks spurshot...I figured the same thing....The "DIC" allows you to change between Metric and Imperial readouts....Since I am from before metric conversion in Canada I use the Imperial conversion when possible....Which begs me to believe that GM has it setup for the English readout for American usage and Metric for Canadian...

The DIC reads in US mpg, if sold in the US. I routinely average 19.5+ mpg on longer trips, and have seen ~21 a few times when there weren't many stops.
