I've been using the site the past week or so to research suspension parts, do some repair work, etc, and figured it was about time I registered and started to contribute. What's with the access permissions stuff? I accidentally created a duplicate album and it won't let me delete one of them.

Welcome!

I love the color of your truck.

Any plans for it?

There are always plans... in fact, probably too many.

I actually just finished pulling off those tube steps that are shown in the picture. I never used them, I want the extra clearance, so I'm either going to sell them on craigslist or keep them and try to mount them as a foot rest on a custom built bar. My next order of business is to level the truck. I've been doing a lot of research lately and I think I'm going to go with the Rancho Quick Lift set up; seems to provide the best range of benefits for what I currently want. I need to get new tires soon, definitely before the winter, so I wanted to sort out the suspension issues first. I'll probably end up going with the biggest tire, up to 33's, that I can fit on my stock wheels, as I really like them. The General Grabber AT2s look pretty nice, I may consider those if they work with my wheels.

I'd like to get some sort of brush or bull guard for the front end at some point, and definitely the light guards for the back end. Neither of those are terribly pressing though so I'm not in a rush. I do plan on putting in a K&N air intake at some point, but until then I'm just going to replace my current filter with a K&N version. I also would like to install dualies at some point as well, but again not pressing, so that's on the back burner.

I'd say my most lofty goal is to replace the Chevy bumper with a GMC one, don't like those painted side pieces all that much. When looking for a used truck I was torn between the GMC front end, and well, a Chevy being a Chevy. Ultimately I couldn't turn my back on the Chevy brand, I've had two Tahoe's before this, but I've been keeping an eye on the wrecked truck lot up the road from me for a Sierra with an intact front end. I figure I'll pull the bumper, fog lights, and painted piece that goes under the grill from a Sierra and install it on my Silverado. Should fit fine and I'll be much happier with it; plus the custom aspect would be totally bitchin'. Who knows if I'll get lucky enough though.
