so i went to remove my spark plug wires on my 04 sierra with the 4.8 vortec and relized it was going to be harder than expected.....my plugs have never been changed and the motor has 80,000 on it. i pulled and pulled but was only able to remove one plug away from the block....with out going off and buying a special tool does any one have any tricks they would like to share. P.s. telling me to go grab my big girl purse is not an acceptable answer...lol....thanks guys.

i just grab and twist and mine come off. when you get them off, put some dielectric grease in the plug boot and you will no have the same problem next time..

When I changed my plugs out I replaced the wires too. If you can afford the added cost it is a better tune up.

Sometimes twisting them a few times on the plug, then pulling will get them off. If not, rig up a pair of pliers with rubber hoses stuffed over the jaws for the real stuck ones ... or just buy the little tool at your local Wal-Mart of autoparts stores designed for the job.

Next time, dielectric grease on the boots! :rollin:
