When all this started, I looked into my crystal ball and asked what to do about Covid-19, here is what it told me. Distance, shielding, and limit the people going out and coming in to the house. It's been spot on so far.

I won't speak on the faith piece 'cause it's too varied in this country. As recent as last week you had religious leaders conducting services in mass church settings. I think I heard they are now locked up. But the "correct action" at this point is the right answer. By now there is enough info around the world to know the correct action. No excuse for folks in America.

I resemble that born in the 50's. Help you say, Cuomo said this morning that all the N95s that everyone is bidding on is coming from China. I saw the New England Patriots private jet land in Boston full of N95s, straight from China. Corporate America let this genie out of the bottle and we live too large to put it back. So we can bash China all we want and it may sound or feel good, but our economy has been interwoven into the fabric of China.

I knew what the mask thing was, I am not trusted, I need to have common sense, I need to stay home, I can't be trusted to wear mask properly and sanitize, I have to learn. And if this is not personal, the curve will go back up, shocking I know.

No debate on your California (Ca) data, it may very well be correct. Antibodies here could be rampant. However in my little portion of Ca, people jumped on this right away. We read the tea leaves when the US gov started flying in folks and distributing them throughout the state, even before the state of Washington numbers started coming in. Hand cleaner, hand washing, masks, distance, and shielding showed up immediately. Yes larger cities like LA, San Fran, and a couple more coastal cities is strained with social distancing, but the vastness of the territory dictate everyday social distancing, without Covid 19. With the greatest number of people in the country being in Ca, it may not make sense. But I'm not as surprised as someone not living here.

Never saw this much death of Americans treating treating Americans in a hospital setting, and I was in Desert Storm. The states with stay home orders and increased testing is getting swamped. With throwing everything at this in multi hospitals, major cities just can't get enough of anything. For states that doesn't have an order or late in the game, it will be worse. Especially those locations with primary rural communities where they have one hospital; where first responders are the same person. WH Dr's say best case scenario if everyone follow the suggested stay at home request, will be at least 100k deaths. "Hoping" everyone does the right thing, then prepare for a worse case scenario. The medical community will need psychiatric help after this, PTSD is real.

It's reported that 20 states does not have a sheltering at home order. Just because those folks are not positive or have any symptoms, doesn't mean they didn't have it or don't have it. During a typical flu season when I don't get a flu shot doesn't mean my sniffles and cough wasn't the flu. When I was out getting my meds and groceries the other day, I saw 10 people at the park playing basketball. I kept my distance, didn't want them to get infected. It's tough, but when at all possible I need to stay at home and look out for them. They're immune system may not be as strong as mine.

Unless you are responsible for gathering China’s stats, you got your info from the media. A lot of stuff heard or said is media. Even this thread, social “Media”. You folks don’t worry, so as not to infect you, my Dr said for me not to leave my house right now unless I need food, water, or meds. And no, I am not positive or have any symptoms. My color is Tungsten Metallic. Starts out looking like the hood was swiped with 100 grit sandpaper then progressively gets worse. Wax didn't do anything for me.

Based on comments on this thread, we know the condition spreads from 2015 to 2018, even saw a 2014 in there. Just another one of those things that’s going on with this generation. It's happening to my truck too. I waxed the truck every time it was washed so there was always protection from the elements. This is not happening anywhere else on the truck, but that’s not to say it won’t. The inferior GM paint job combined with the sub-par paint, takes more of a hit with the sections of the truck exposed to the most sunlight. Has to be that cause I hand wash the truck with clean water and soap then dry it with a non-abrasive drying cloth. Never used the dealer or automated car washes. The ONLY thing that would have “delayed” my process would have been constant garaging.

If the liftgate does not open because of cold weather, the manual says to "select OFF on the liftgate switch".

Had something similar but on a Chevy. Pull the number 6 fuel injection wire and check the condition. If good, pull the injector and clean or replace and see if the idle levels and code disappears. If you replace, you could probably do it for about 60 bucks, cheaper than renting a vehicle to catch the wedding. If this works, drop some STP concentrated fuel injection cleaner in the tank for a little insurance.

Stop before you do anything else. Pull the stick out again and be sure it's completely dry, replace and let sit for 10 seconds on level ground. Pull out the stick, if you don't see any liquid, drain the pan and monitor how much oil you see coming out. Refill with 7 qts, should see a measurement at the bottom of the stick. Better to figure out what's wrong with less oil than too much.

You’ve had the truck for 4 yrs and within the last 6 months something changed, what changed electrically? Don’t think your batteries or alternators were bad. Your receipts should show if your mechanic conducted an electrical diagnosis on the first visit. If not, have an electrical diagnosis done, this may not tell you what is causing the drain, but it might tell you what is not causing it (like new batteries or alternators). A reputable shop would not have allowed you to purchase 3 batteries and 4 alternators within a 6 month period.

Everything you mentioned has been tried, your dealer is attempting to make this truck tolerable for you. Keep your expectations very low and don't be dazzled by just the bells and whistles. The 2014 (gen 3) is a decent truck, though technologically dated by today's SUV standards.

Good that the dealer is making an attempt, unfortunately they won't figure anything out. You have a truck with detached roof bows, the dealer would have to do something like what was mentioned by Shaun and Elripster. If not, look for something different 'cause these trucks won't change until 2021, when the gen 5s come out.

This is an old thread, but I believe you misread my post. The seats didn't lay flat when I made the post and according to you, still don't lay flat today. The mechanics of what it takes the seats to fold will not allow them to fold flat. The passenger side lays flatter than the driver's side, maybe because of a smaller seat (60/40 split). Nothing can be done to get these seats to lay flat. When the fold flat buttons are pressed the front of the "seat bottom" lifts and slides to the back at an angle, and remains at that angle when mated with the "seat back". This movement will never allow the seat to be flat.

You could even go 55's if you wanted to. I have wheels and tires at stock ride height from the factory, 275/55/20. Turn radius is better than my cars, no rubbing.

There is not enough owner input if the ‘18 will be risky or not, but the difference in these trucks is whether you were lucky or not. It took 7 years for this current generation change, so whatever is going on with the unlucky owners will probably not change until the generation 5 (21/22) version. The body style, suspension, and chassis remains the same, adding bells and whistles year after year is not getting to the heart of the issue. Hats off to the owners attempting to mitigate the issues, but also being one of the lucky owners, I wouldn’t be looking to push that luck.

No warranty, no harm, no foul. If you have the extra cash, I would also spring for the front.

Tahoe conversation starts on page 1. But if you owned a GMC, 6.2, Denali XL, mag ride, sunroof, 22 in wheels you would have complained 75% of the time. Followed by Chevy, LTZ, XL, mag ride, 22 in wheels, sunroof, in which owners complained 22% of the time. And lastly, Cadillac, any model, mag ride, sunroof, 22 in wheels, complaints about 3%. Cadillac would have more complaints if folks were willing drop 100k on the truck. This is my guestimated owner complaint percentage based on actually reading every post, but keep in mind most of these post are about first year versions. The issues are less about a model rather than the Gen 4 platform having problems with similar suspension, length, weight, and tire size. Now if you just gotta' have one of these Gen 4 trucks, eliminate the similar issues and you might get lucky. Any model, 5.3 (if available), standard size, premium ride, no sunroof, less than 22 in wheels. Not scientific, but few owner complaints when the similar issues are eliminated. My 2015 model fits this profile and I haven’t experienced any of these issues, yet. One thing I will note, tire pressure cold should be about 32 psi, this Gen 4 platform does not like it when tire pressure exceeds 35 psi hot.

BTW, I have been following this thread since page 1, don't waste your time trying to figure this out. Forget the tricks tried by GM or dealers. If you find one with issues, it will not change. On the other hand, if you find one without issues, it may not change.

Well, you know what to look for, so you're ahead of the game. I would keep looking. Depending on the year, one with low mileage will be suspect.

All don't have it, mine doesn't. But the one you are looking at does so this "should" be a no-brainer for you. Recommend you pass-up this truck.
