  1. Nicely done Marv! Your dedication to detail and accuracy is outstanding!
  2. Love the Northstar, absolute hoot in my 96 DeVille. A damn shame GM nickeled and dimed it so much, had they spent some damn money sealing it it would be legendary, not infamous
  3. Mine turned out well, not impressed with some of the prep work (they sprayed over the VIN tag on my tailgate, thanks buttholes) but otherwise very well done, very rugged, and looks fantastic in color match as well. I love mine too!
  4. New Exhaust howls the worst of any I've had. That and the new front pipe continues to slowly improve, and the muffler is already broken in. Old one stays. 104,238 and counting. He's back to 100%. TIME TO GO FOR A DRIVE!
  5. Man we got a VERY mild winter out here! Accuweather long term forecast looks quite promising too
  6. And I thought I was OCD
  7. Hopefully you can get the tune dialed in perfect to your liking. Does it run like a bat out of hell now?
  8. EEESH... even got blanketed with snow. Those temperatures are NOT fun. Definitely in for a warm up idle
  9. If it weren't for fuel economy standards I bet the old fullsize cars would still be around. The howl is slowly going away, so that is good. That being said, I said hell with it and got a new one coming. Should be here Tuesday, and I have some ideas for clamp placement that may help. At any rate I'm looking forward to it. 103,274 miles and counting!
  10. Call your dealer, certainly a warranty concern. For a simpler and quicker try, disconnect the battery, let it set for 30 seconds, and hook everything back up.
  11. You certainly can! In settings on the Infotainment system, there is an option ( I forget under which menu, I think it is vehicle>locks or something like that), and you can select from lights, horn, or both when you hit the lock button.
  12. Can confirm, on my 2015 Silverado LTZ, lights will flash but horn will NOT sound if a door is open.
  13. How's the new rig compare to the old Raven? Got the new Borla front pipe on. SAME DAMN F*&%^$#& HOWL. Wonder if there's something in the muffler causing issues. Pipe is free and clear, no issues there. For some reason they cut a hole in the middle of the flapper paddle, though it doesn't seem to hurt functionality too much. Emailed them again, hopefully they can figure something out. Starting to wish I kept my factory exhaust, this is getting annoying. Kinda takes the fun out of your $1000 exhaust system when your V8 sounds more like a mini jet than a hot rod.
  14. Idaho car didn't pan out. Was in great shape, but the price was too high. Oh well, there's more out there, just gotta find one
  15. I've noticed this as well, not specifically to the output the OP has, but it will vary depending on outside temperature, engine speed, etc. My Battery tests well, and he fires up every time, so on I go!
  16. Entered 6 digit territory on January 10th, Kinda surreal to see that happen after 2.5 years. Happy to report he is running great with no issues. Maybe I'll leave a goodwill report in the K2 Section Time to register for Chevy Truck Legends! As a reward for him / birthday present for me he got his new wheels installed on January 15th. They got here in perfect shape, and they went on in perfect shape. Finally got a good guy at Big O, and to encourage him I gave him a 20 in an effort to encourage the continuation of such great work. Borla is also sending me a new front pipe, should be here monday. The current one has a banshee wail above 4k rpm, they labeled it as a bad valve. Excited to hopefully get my SIlverado sounding like a race truck above 4k RPM and not an F-14 spooling for takeoff Finally got my park brake adjusted properly. Turns out it helps when you use the GM spec clearance gauge, set proper gapping, and tension the cable accordingly. Now it holds against 1500 RPM engine speed on a 10 degree grade. Maybe not the best way to check it, but now I know it works
  17. Going to Idaho Falls on Monday to look at a parts car. Body looks good, and they hardly use any salt (if at all out there). Less than SD and from what I recall my parent's cars held up well underneath.
  18. Oh yeah, the armchair ASE mechanics will let you have it! New wheels inbound. I made it 2 months having installed a "new" one with a known defect, I think that's a record for me. One of the wheels the dealer ordered to replace one of the wheels the service department screwed up was not boxed properly. The lip got out and was roughed up at some point. I was able to make it look nice before install with polishing compound, but a week or two later I noticed the surface of the wheel appeared damaged at the spot where I had to polish it. Holds air fine, but I just can't live with it, evidently. New ones are coming from GMPartsNow.com, and I have had outstanding luck with them in the past, so I am looking forward to receiving them.
  19. Oh NICE those tires look slick on the factory wheels
  20. Good place to check would be your adapter right in the bumper, depending on your location you might get some crud up in there. Another thing to try would be some CRC QD Electronic cleaner in the adapter with the truck OFF. Let it dry for 10 minutes and then try again.
  21. Discovered that my tailgate not opening as slowly is likely a bushing. Will investigate after work, but nice to know it's relatively easy.
  22. I remember my freshman year Mom and Dad said if I wanted a car (or anything else for that matter) I was to get a job. A week after school ended I had one. Two years later I had saved $9k (Gillette WY is a great job market for teenagers when the boom is in) and got a 1996 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Dad made it VERY clear that if I was to live at home, I was to be pursuing a meaningful career (i.e. college). After I graduated high school rent was $350. I thought that was bad until I got my first place
  23. One of my coworkers is a 21yo dizzy broad, a readhead who's way to damn chipper and wants to be everybody's friend. Said she spent $3000 on Xmas gifts last year. Works as a nurses aid. She will routinely lament that she is broke.
  24. Why was the scarecrow always afraid? He knew his ass was grass
