  1. Referring back to the Green Thing post (about recycling), it's sad to see how the current generation views my habits. Age-wise I'm a millenial, but through habits and my Dad's guiding hand I would at least fit into his generation. Case in point, I like diet soda, and I usually buy it in cans cause that's the cheapest. Partly from force of habit, but mainly on principle, I religiously collect aluminum cans. Sure, I don't get much, but it's more than nothing, and aluminum makes some sweet stuff, like engine blocks and polished wheels. All my coworkers, especially the young females, find it absolutely comical that I "waste" time on such a "trivial" task. Even the farm girl on the floor who I would have thought shared my mindset, laughed at my attempts. The more I think on it I'm glad she was taken when I got to her. I asked one of the dense ones if, all of the sudden, $3 appeared in the trash (about what I get per can collection). She said she wouldn't bother. IT'S $3! LEGAL TENDER! FREE FREAKING MONEY! Nope. People do not appreciate the small things anymore, understand the effort to undertake something, nor feel they should have to work for anything. What is wrong with this world?
  2. One of my best friends got me a power steering rack for my Cadillac for Christmas, so I have a project now. It will be so nice to have power assist again. The slop in the old rack is absurd. The nice thing about fixing up a 23 year old luxury boat is that there's a lot of them people are letting go for cheap, so parts are not hard to come by. Days off to go get one in a nicer climate, now those are a rarity. At least with my incentive at work I'll have plenty of dough for travel.
  3. Yup. My 2015 decreases the fan speed in any temperature setting when a Bluetooth call is answered.
  4. Nice! You're getting Pepper dialed in. Being able to keep your winter MPG losses down is incredible. That lifetime average is looking great too! Keep us posted on what more you may find out with Dyson reporting. Blackstone came highly recommended to me from my best friend who uses it on his Mustang. I use them every 3rd oil change, or try to at least. Clyde has a string of GLOWING reports. Quaker State Ultimate Durability at every 5k with a Purolator BOSS filter are working WONDERS
  5. Nicely done! 97,999 at this moment. My maintenance schedule is what most people would consider overkill, but it has paid off for me!
  6. Cool, good to know. Thank you for the update!
  7. I'd be vary careful of that. Not sure if they have changed things over the years, but in the older days (I.E. late 2000s) E85 in a non-factory capable vehicle is a good way to ruin seals.
  8. Same here, have had a pair of GM blades sitting in my parts pile for 2 years now, figure come the 3 year driving mark in June they will be due. The GM ones really hold up well. I agree. Clyde is a happy camper with no needs at the moment.
  9. Is the check light on?
  10. Me too. The second I saw the K2s for the first time I had to have one. Once I found these wheels I had to have them on my K2 Diggin the rig qwank. You've done an excellent job dude
  11. Glad to see Pacific Blue/ Northsky Blue looks like it does. For a minute I thought they had dropped Deep Ocean Blue without so much as a decent successor
  12. Drove to work. Added a bunch of goodies to the center console, it's a bit more full now. You could keep 3 dead hookers in there. Have some appearance goodies on order, as well as a roadside kit I want to spruce up a tick. My NightBreaker Lasers got here, only a week from the UK is pretty impressive. They look to be good bulbs, but we'll see. I believe my NightBreaker Unlimiteds are on 3 months now, so if past use is any indication, I won't have to wait long to try the Lasers.
  13. Not yet, then again they are the Wyoming Cowboys
  14. LOL I took Clyde's first picture at the dealer's fuel pump. That was a great day! 75K is pretty remarkable for a tire in general, but then again it's a testament to your meticulous nature . What's the plan for new tires? Going to change wheels at that point, or stick with ye olde steelies?
  15. Going for full on Storm Trooper? Friday I added to my center console. New First Aid kit with a shiny bowtie (same style as on the grille and tailgate ), Chevy branded emergency power stick, and some paracord to go in the first aid kit. That also is Chevy branded, cause I'm like a damn kid in a candy store whenever I see stuff like that. I also got a Chevy trucks microfiber cloth for kicks too. After browsing through the engine cover thread, I decided to go for one myself, I have some extra decorations in mind. Just have to wait for it to get here. Also got the emergency roadside kit (with the bowtie, naturally) on order to stash under my rear seat. Like the idea, and I have a few upgrades in mind.
  16. If he has the 6.2+8 Speed the "sticking" is "tame" full throttle, when you completely FLOOR it it will really get things moving in a hurry XD It's supposed to be like that
  17. Somebody needs to tell the damn bean counters at GM it's not the Great Depression. They do really stupid stuff in the name of saving a few bucks, and it comes back to bite them in the ass years later (i.e. cylinder head studs on the Northstar).
  18. Nicely done dude! Looks great Having grown very tired of finding gas station squeegees that were filthy, smelled like sewer ponds, had a bunch of crap in the mesh, or a combination of the three, I went to Napa and got my own. MUCH better. I was very fortunately able to recover my Excel log for my truck earlier this week. After I got my hard drive back from recovery I was able to pull the entire thing from temp files Excel saved right before the crash. Thank God, I though I was doomed. It may not be critical, but for Captain OCD it may as well be. Now I have 2 hard copies and 2 electronic copies saved to One Drive. Going to rebuild the entire thing, add in my uncharted maintenance (you would not believe the receipts and sticky notes I have laying around ) and then save a copy to One Drive, one to my computer's hard drive, and one to a flash drive I recently got for Clyde. It even has a bowtie and the Chevrolet script on it.
  19. Hmmm, I will keep that in mind when my suspension service rolls around. Perhaps I can use this as an excuse for an impact wrench purchase!
  20. Sucks about the tailgate. Inexcusable in today's world, and yet with the severe lack of concern often found, it happens. I've had great luck, so I'm biased, but I figure pick your favorite and stick with 'em. They all have issues, might as well deal with the same set. I agree, it should not happen, but I find that everybody else's tolerance has vastly increased
  21. Nice when you get a project done and you get a good benefit out of it. Fog lights dried out, took a couple of weeks but they are moisture free and no water marks on the lenses. Beats the hell out of taking them out again. Got my bedliner installation scheduled, Line-X with color match. Will look sweet, even moreso with the factory bedliner bowtie. That was a search like none other. Osram released new Night Breakers. The Lasers, as dubbed, are even brighter than the Unlimiteds I have now. Will help big time in deer country.
  22. They work, just depends on the car. On my sister's Kia, it was a walk in the park. My Cadillac? A FREAKING STRUGGLE. Sierra springs? Looks even worse!
  23. Thank you...I always wondered why it toots when you unlock it with the key, it is the key to the truck after all.
  24. That seat cushion price is ABSURD! Why does it need replaced? On a somewhat related note, Osram released Night Breaker LASERS in Clyde's bulb specs. TIME TO SPOT SATELLITES!
