  1. I had 18" on my 14 LT. Now I have 20" on my 19 LTZ, came with the package. I think my previous 18" was smoother than these 20". You are absolutely right. Lower sizes are smoother and more practical, but bigger sizes are more aggressive and beautiful ?
  2. Take it back to the dealer for software update.
  3. I noticed that using hitch view in backing up will activate it when you put the shift back in park.
  4. Don't rely on lane keep assist. Mine is moody. Changing color of stripping or their type, or even their curvature cause to stop working ?
  5. What do you mean "HUD's retracting"? I've never heard about that!
  6. My Cruze has the same step at the end as well. I don't see any relation between this and immediate downshift. I don't feel that much difference when the pedal goes to that stage.
  7. My 2014 was horrible in paint. It was the famous deep ruby color. Its clear coat chipped out all over the car. GM didn't accept the issue. I had to sell it cheaper last year because of the issue. I bought my 2019 in white not to take any risk ?. I haven't found anything issue yet after 8000 miles in 5 months.
  8. If your dealer isn't a big Chevy or GMC dealer, then change your dealer if GM won't pick up your order by next week. You can ask the dealer to give you the event code. You can also chat with GM to get more accurate information. By having your event code, you can find the stats of your order. If everything goes smoothly, it takes almost 2 to 2.5 months to get your truck from the time putting your order.
  9. I believe you're not supposed to go over 55 mph in California while towing (more than 2 axel total). ?
  10. Guys! This is a TRUCK! I don't get why everyone is so picky on this clunking thing! GM is the same manufacturer which makes Cadillac and smaller Chevy and GMC cars over 100 years, without clunking, the same as Ford. Now both GM and Ford are using the same transmissions. They both know how to make cars and their transmissions. They are not stupid to make durable trucks breaking fast. This clunking thing has been with these trucks in almost all past generations with automatic transmissions, when changed to 6-speed. It's very simple. These trucks have naturally aspirated 8 cylinder engines which oxygen intake depends solely on atmospheric pressure and does not rely on forced induction through a turbocharger or a supercharger. Therefore, they drop the rpm very fast when they come to stop. Also, the flywheel in these engines is very light compare to 4 or 6 cylinder engines. They have the flywheel just to engage the starter. Therefore, there is less inertia being saved in them when the car comes to stop in low speed in very low rpm. On the other side, all truck's inertia is transferring to the transmission from the rear end. During synchronization between the transmission and the engine in very low speeds, specially coming to stop, sometimes such clunking condition happens. It's getting better after couple of thousands miles when the computer learns your driving style, but it will never go away completely. This is my 4th Silverado. None of my past silverados (past 3 generations) had ever had any transmission issue because of clunking. By the way, this thread is for backup camera not for transmission clunking. They are other related threads that people are talking about it more in details.
  11. It sounds like GM is focusing more on crew cab now, and manufacture them in Fort Wayne plan here in the US. It looks like double and regular cabs are manufacturing with less interest from GM. That should be one of the reasons that the lead time is getting longer for double and regular cabs. These two (2) links explain more in details: https://pickuptrucktalk.com/2019/05/gm-invests-24m-fort-wayne-assembly-plant/
  12. There is no adjustment for the level of fish eye. But if it's more aggressive than the usual setup in some cases, it's just because of not waiting for proper computer boot up. There are some treads here about that. I believe the latest updates addressed some of the issues including the level of contrast.
  13. I don't agree with you. There is no way you can park this monster without back up camera and without hitting anything in tight spaces. Also, how will you hook your trailer without helping by someone else? The hitch view is amazing in this truck. Have you ever tried to back up in Costco or Walmart parking lots when two big trucks or SUVs parked at both sides of you, and pedestrians never cared while you were trying to back up? Of course, using the camera only and not looking through the mirrors is risky because the camera doesn't cover everywhere.
  14. Congratulations! For sure you'll enjoy any moment of cursing with your beast. If you see any misbehaving by her, just be patient and break-in the truck exactly per the procedures mentioned in the manual, page 246. You can download the owner's manual from here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://my.chevrolet.com/content/dam/gmownercenter/gmna/dynamic/manuals/2019/Chevrolet/silverado-1500ld/2019-chevrolet-silverado-1500-ld-2500-3500-owners-manual.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwi-i73ch73iAhVK_J4KHWyUDywQFjAAegQIBBAB&usg=AOvVaw3YhjaBpSbWJd--H_wCuY3D&cshid=1559006757285
  15. For those who have this issue, try this: after cranking up the engine wait 30 seconds before put it in the gears. Some issues were existed with HD cameras long ago and before latest updates. Still after 7000 miles and latest updates, if I put the truck in any gear and driving right after cranking up the engine, the beast starts doing weird things like playing all stations at the same time, blank monitors, crazy HUD,... It takes some time for the computer to boot up properly. Driving immediately, interrupts proper boot up.
  16. Then why does it need to be connected to OBD II?
  17. I'm sorry guys. I don't get why this dash cam is so expensive! I have had this one, on my previous and the new trucks, and I'm happy with it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B071LPV7G6?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Is there any benefit for connecting the cameras to OBD II? I prefer not to connect anything to OBD II, since it's directly connected to the ECU. This truck is already so complicated and high tec. I don't want to mess with that ?
  18. And I discovered yesterday that the remote drains the 2032 battery crazy. I had to replace the battery after 4 months. Now I'm keeping an extra in the truck for emergency ?
  19. I'm not sure who you contacted with. I emailed my request last week and got the response in couple of hours with pdf file of RPO Codes, including detailed explanations.
  20. You should look at these 2 links: https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/forum/245-2019-silverado-sierra-troubleshooting/?sortby=last_real_post&sortdirection=desc&page=2 You need to make sure that nothing is drawing voltage from the battery when the engine is off or causing any interference with the computer. My dealer told me that GM has already notified the dealers to tell the customers about issues with using aftermarket sigaret plugins.
  21. I hope this will help you: http://gmauthority.com/blog/gm-order-tracking/gm-order-event-codes-and-definitions/
  22. I think you should get it by the 3rd week of June or even earlier. Mine was built on 12/21/2018 and I got it on 1/21/2019 in CA. At that time it was some shipping issues due to Christmas and new year holidays, winter storm,....
  23. I installed the letters from bdtrims.com They are very good quality. I ordered Domed style and in chrome. https://www.bdtrims.com/letter_inserts/Chevrolet_letter_Inserts/Tailgate-Plastic-Letters-Inserts-for-2019-Chevrolet-Silverado-Models
