Change the throttle position sensor ,should fix problem

Check your fuel pressure regulator as well. It's on the driver side fuel rail. Just pull the vacuum line off and if fuel comes out, it needs to be replaced. Good luck!

I have just gone thru this with my wifes 01 Tahoe, how many miles on it??close to 140,000. I changed plugs, wires, Dealer said TPS also but still didnt fix it, took it to a tranny shop and had them rebuild it and the problem is gone. They said a regulator valve was bad and the sunshell was about to go out. This is a shop I trust not just a random shop. I tried the TPS, the VSS, cleaning the MAFS and nothing worked. My wifes truck was surgging between 40 to 50 mph and about 200 to 300 on the tach, any where below or above and it seemed fine. Hope this experience helps you out.
