Hi Folks,

They sell a few goodies I would love to buy. I am not a mechanic, and do not work at a garage or anything. How do I go about buying some of their stuff?? Drive around looking for their trucks?? Do not have tons of time to do this.

Came home from work last week and a Matco truck was at a neighbors house. I don't know what he bought or how much he spent, he's not a mechanic so I guess they'll make house calls.

I sold Mac tools for a while and they were very good quality and stood behind them better than most companies. For specialty tools like pullers I like OTC. Good commercial quality. Snap On IMHO produces the best open end box wrench on the market and used correctly never fail. I personally own a mix of consisting of mainly Snap On and a variety of MAC, SK, and Craftsman. Mac boxes are better and cheaper than Snap On. Snap-On forged wrench and sockets out perform the competition. Matco was never a serious competitor for me as their distributor network blows. The reason you buy one of the top names is so the local dude can provide tool support. If you are buying online the warranty advantage would go to Sears. There is always a Sears near by.

I have a select few Matco tools and I've been very pleased with them. Bought mine off of a Matco truck at a dealership. I didn't work there or anything but I found out what day and time he dropped by there and dropped by myself when I needed something. Pretty easy and they run monthly specials on a lot of their stuff.

Jim,

Do you actually WORK on cars and trucks? I can't picture you doing more than mounting the license plate with a #2 phillips.

Are you kidding?

I'm completely hands on. My garage is Truck Mod Central. We've built a ton of hot rods and projects in my garages over the years. What's the fun in it if you don't do it yourself?

No shit. It's called 3.1 inches of rain this year. Normal rainfall is 29 plus inches. It's been a tad dry and we have had 67 days over 100 degrees. Gotta love summer!

Oh, and Hawg... I'm not set up to do any engine swaps in the garage at home. We have plenty of space at the warehouse (and the lifts) do that kind of stuff. I keep it fairly simple at the house.

I am planning on buying a MD9001N - Quick scan pro. About as close as you can get to a TechII, for alot less money.

Plus I prefer Matco over Snap on.
