I get it your trucks are much faster then my 95. Every time i stop at a red light and one of these pulls up beside me they try to race me. I already know i well lose so i dont even bother giving them the ego boast anymore. I cant wait until i have more duramax, i bet they quit trying then.

 

Sorry about that, no place to vent. Basically what are the best ways to get better performance from my truck. I know more about diesel trucks and have very limited knowledge on 1500s as i have less experience driving these. So i really dont know where to start.

Cam, higher Stall, and Gears will get you moving pretty quick.

Can never go wrong with a 383 stroker kit and a supercharger That will make them look pretty lame.....which is what its all about. DOnt worry man, I make it my own personal vendeta to make the rig rockets look ridiculous if they fill my car with black smoke because of their cheap tuning!!!! I like my little V6 Altima....much faster than a diesel truck

You apparently haven't raced a very well tuned Diesel truck. I have seen a number of diesels run 11s, 12s, and 13s. I have also seen a few in the 10's.

Well no, low profile mud tires and belching black smoke doesnt make for a well tuned truck, I know they can be fast, its just most of these douches make their truck blow dirty smoke just so they can look....I dont know...cool?!?!?!?

Southern Alberta, there are so many trucks out here its crazy. I went to CNRL the other day and in there parking lot they had over 20 new GM trucks. And these where just personal trucks, not company. I should start taking pictures of parking lots so people can see how many big trucks there are in my town. Only 8000 people live here but i bet there are over 5000 full sized trucks in this town. Everyone has one.

 

 

Theres nothing wrong with black smoke, its not as dirty as you might think. Those diesel trucks are very fast. When i was driving the Super duties i was beating lots of other cars and trucks.

If your on a budget- Best way to get a few more ponies.

 

Cold Air Intake, Get it programmed ( Wheatley, Black Bear, etc ), Dump your cats ( if your state will allow it ) and grab some better exhaust.

 

These are the best "bang for the buck" mods you can do

But they are still just trucks......I wouldnt modify my cordless drill or my sliding compound mitre.....to me they are a tool, truck racing is just an abortion.....that refuses to die. I actually feel sorry for them, if they would have tried harder they could have had a fast car and a truck....instead of trying to make one vehicle that does nothing that well. But thats just me, I like my cars fast and my trucks utilitarian......

This girl i know has a dodge 3500 with a 8inch lift and 41inch tires. its chipped and she can do 0-60 in less then 10. we were out doing that today acctually. so trucks are fast. as for me if i had 400 000 to spend on vehicles you can believe me when i say there is in no way i would ever buy a car or anything other then a truck. it has nothing to do with how hard you try, trucks can race and black smoke from diesels is healthy

Funny, Ive never seen a truck on a track....well a race track.....1/4 mile is great and all, but straight line is easy. I just think its idiotic to annoy everyone with thick black smoke like a 96 Ford Tempo with bad piston rings just because.....well you think it looks cool.

But black smoke from a diesel is good. also if in not mistaken black smoke from those trucks is not as bad as the crap you cant see from gas vehicles. they dont stink like those crappy cars out there blown black smoke

I know that diesel its just particulates mainly, but its really freaking disgusting to have these douches roar by in a cloud of smoke. If its supposed to be a "race truck" put it on a trailer, if its a daily driver, get the Banks stuff, make no smoke and I really dont get why the door has to be 6 and a half feet of the ground?? Is this a offroad thing??? Ive wheeled quite a bit and Ive never seen a rig rocket on the trail.
