Tire Leaf Springs

i have an 03 sierra 2x4 4.8l

i'm thinking about changing or adding a spring to my truck for a stronger suspension.

what does everyone think and what info if any can anyone give me?

what type of spring to use or whereto get one, new or used?

... never seen anyone have really good luck with adding an extra leaf spring... your suspension capacity is more than just springs... if you load up too much you are going to overload an axle or bearing ... or some other new weak link... sometimes the extra leaf spring just causes the truck to ride/handle like a beast...

... some people add air bags to their rear suspension and inflate them for a temporary assist when pulling a trailer or heavy load

airbags if you want to stiffin it up for towing and a add-a-leaf if you want it taller and alittle firmer.

Don't forget Timbren's! I haven't bought some yet but, one of the guys I work with put them on his GMC 2500 for when he put's his camper on. I was going to buy some just for a little bit of insurance when carrying a heavy load.
