Well, i take my truck(2007 chevy silverado 1500 5.3l ) to the dealer today because as usual my transmission is finally acting up worse after the inital 10 times (no lie) i have taken it in.. i tell the guy exacly my problem which was... i was going up the grapevine here in socal i-5, and i was holding 3,000rpms and my transmission started slipping and the truck was jerking you could feel it let loose and catch up..then i have a 2-3 rd gear bad clank still im suspecting the slip yoke, and my 1-2 is harsh as heck.. he states to me "its your motor mis firing, its not your transmission dont assume things..i almost said i think i know the F***ing difference between a motor misfiring and a transmission slipping. then after all said done he goes on to tell me its going to be a 275$ service charge and so forth even though i have a warranty..im like this is a never ending nightmare with the dealer.. well i hope they finally find something wrong with the transmission..and i gave him my other list of issues..rear main seal leaking oil on the motor,AFM lifter noise..

anyone else have issues with their transmissions in these trucks?

Sounds like you need to go to a different dealer.

My tranny is OK. Front pump seal was replaced. 4WD LO was all screwed up, and that was fixed. I can complain about the truck (and I do), but the warranty support has been great from both dealers I have worked with.

edmunds dot com had a similar issue on a long term 07 model, search their archive & you can see what they had to deal with before the tranny was rebuilt by the dealer

My truck has been back to whitemans chevrolet up here in queensbury, ny 3 times. once for a front pump seal in the tranny, once for a tailshaft seal in the transfer case, and once for a faulty valve in the evap system. Every time they have had quick service, never given me any sh*t about anything and tried to do everything they could to help all under warranty (never payed a cent), and i didnt even buy the truck from them. I would say find another dealer.

Sounds like from your post you need some speaking etiquette. " F***ing " is not a way to have a conversation with a writeup person or a service manager all it will do is make them mad and your the looser. How do you know its not a misfire? Move on to another dealer and see what happens.

I am not understanding why you are having to pay a dollar for anything...

You should be on the phone with GM Customer Assistance...

$275 for what? You shouldn't have to pay anything at all...

What's this 5 year / 100k mile factory powertrain warranty for ??????

Trans definitely qualifies as powertrain...
