Chirping From Belt

Ok so there is a chirping coming from what i think is my belt. it gets louder and more high pitched the faster the engine goes. I tried some belt conditioner and some WD40 on all the pulleys, it seemed to help a bit but it is still there. is there anything else i should try or look out for?

Needs a new belt. Very common on those trucks. Idlers are known to go bad as well.

well ya know ...I left the general in aug 08 and fixin green army trucks as a civy tech,Im doin my old job except I am not wearing green,lol

I has a new belt as i just got the truck in Sep. I added some belt conditioner and that seems to have help with the chirping. It still makes it when it is cold but when it warms up it goes away kinda.

I've never had a chirp from a GatorBack belt.

yup, your tensioner is toast

Once they start making noise (from the rubber getting hard and dry) they don't stop. If the noise doesn't bother you, the belt can be used for a long time anyway. You'll know it when a tensioner bites the dust.

Yeah they're really simple.

Don't forget to look into the idler pulley as well, if equipped
