cd removal

Tried on the light duty forum now we try here, Anyone know how to remove the little cd player from the center console ? I have the little cubby hole thing ordered and should be in Friday afternoon.

This is going off of memory from a while back, so someone correct me if i miss something.

 

Open the door for the cd storage, remove the screws that are in there (2, I think), the faceplate thing for the cd player/cd storage area snaps off, then the cd player is held in with a couple of those "squeeze to release" type clamps, then it will slide out so you can unhook the electrical conector.  If I remember right, you don't have a lot of room to work with when trying to unhook the wiring harness.  

 

Check to make sure there are no other screws holding that faceplate part on.  I don't remember there being more that two, but like I said, it was a year or two since I had mine out.

What tom said is correct.  I've got some info on my site about this as well.  There are the two screws on there and also some little tabs at the top of the piece, so be sure not to snap those when you remove the front plate.
