I want to try some different "additives" to my seasonal store bought eggnog.

What is your favorite?

If you don't like the stuff  ....nothing here to see, keep moving.

This is one time of the year when CR takes a back seat.I like to heat up some good egg nogg in a pot, then pour it into a cup,add some brandy and a light dusting of nutmeg on top.......mmmmmmmm

Not an eggnog fan but I suppose a nice brandy would do nicely to "enhance" the flavor.

Try a cup of eggnogg in the microwave, get it hot(leave a little room for a shot of brandy)stir it and sip it like coffee.....not bad

Be sure to get a good brand of eggnogg, the cheap stuff sucks

Yup...big fan of cinnamon myself

If your still not liking the taste...try a sprinkle or two of brown sugar or icing sugar.

We have something in the Navy...kind of a tradition...its called moose milk.

Its like 6 40's of booze...Kahlua, Bailie's, spiced rum and a few more, mixed with vanilla ice cream and Milk sprinkle of nutmeg and cloves and some icing sugar. That stuff will get ya drunk.

Nice.. Good idea for a winter Bonfire or party.. Can you get the exact throwins?

Just curious, how large is the Canadian Navy? Im in the US army as a medic, but know nothing bout either navies

The Canadian Forces has about (all 3 elements) have a total of 67000 soldiers sailors and Airmen/women

As for how many in the Navy...I would wager maybe 15000 tops.

We have a small military.

Here's a generic mixture...but most of the cooks hold their additives pretty secrete.

120 oz Spiced Rum

26 oz Brandy

26 oz Kahlua

26 oz Bailie's

3 or 4 gal Ice Cream, Vanilla

2 or 3 gal Milk or Egg Nog

1 qt Whipping Cream

dash Vanilla Extract

dash Nutmeg

I know one cook told me that he uses 2-3 cups of Icing sugar to remove almost all traces of Alcohol, this one was really dangerous.

I also know most cooks use 40's instead of 26's...well the good ones do anyway. As you can tell...this makes a lot of drinks...so make sure you have a large party going down....or half everything and make a small batch.

If your not a fan of nutmeg, you can forgo it..the spiced rum makes a nice flavor in it anyway. We usually use Capt. Morgan spiced, but every so often we brake out the good stuff...some Pusser's 108 proof ....that will put hair on yer nuts.

Don't believe Mike,Everclear is only good for cleaning brake parts

Come on now.....

Its good to keep as a disinfectant in the first aid kit too...nothing can live after it drinks that stuff.

And in the camping kit...two rocks and a oz of that and you could start a fire in a rainstorm.
