i have a 2000 1500 Z71 with a 3 inch body lift. im looking to get wider 16inch rims but i wanted to know if i could mount 315/75/R16s on with little to no rubbing. if not then whats the biggest i could go? i could trim small parts but i dont have the proper tools to do a large amount of trimming and such.

I had a 2004, a friend had a 1999 and another friend had a 2002, all with 3 in body lifts and those tires. I can't help you on the wider rim though, we all had stock wheels, with little to no rubbing. Maybe a small amount of plastic trimming, but I don't remember that was a long time ago.

I had an 03 1500 HD with a decent crank up front with 305/55/20's on 20x9's and they rubbed a little (on road), and that was after some trimming and hammering. My HD probably sat about 3" higher than a stock 1500 and my tires calculated to: 33.21" x 12.01". The tires you are you looking at calculate to: 34.6" x 12.4". What will save you will be using the stock wheels. But be ready to cut and possibly break out the rubber mallet.

I have also been looking at running the 315/75/16's on mine, and have seen two trucks with just leveling kits so far with these tires, a 2003 on Mud Grapplers and a 2000 on BFG All terrains, oddly enough, the 2003 with Mud Grapplers was not not scrubbing, but the 2000 with BFG's had to trim the fender well.

make sure you get the right back spacing. if you get rims off a solid axe truck your rims will stick out alot. and go through a ton of ifs parts. id try wheel spacers there like $70 a set in summit racing

i had a 2000 reg short bed Z71 with a 3" body and a good crank up front. i ran weld racing 16.5x9 wheels with bfg mud terrain 33x12.50x16.5 tires and had no problems at all, just had to trim back the front valance a hair. im not sure on my back spacing but i can tell you i had a good inch or two out. i believe those tires would have been about a 305 not a 315. like blackout07 stated, you would be running about a 35" tire.

That's a sharp looking truck. I'm really thinking about a 3" BL myself if your able to fun those size of tires. Thanks for posting...
