Good Deal...or Wait It Out?

I work as a Tech at a GM store in Wisconsin. New car Manager proposed a deal TO ME yesterday...I didn't ask for a deal !!

 

"You would do ok on this one...it qualifies for a bunch of rebates........." is what I was told.

 

So, I looked into the numbers.

 

I want to ask you guys on here WHO HAVE BOUGHT 09's.....opinions??

Here's a number crunch.

 

$35,810 MSRP

 

$32,190 GM Employee Price

 

$-4000 National rebate, -2000 old invoice rebate, -500 "no-return" rebate

 

$25,690 plus ttl

 

Seems a bit too high for me...opinions??

This truck has 617 miles on it, and our store is the THIRD store it has been to in it's lfetime.

I'd say thats a pretty good deal, and yeah prices are going up around here too. All that is left for 09 is base model / work truck trim or odd configurations. If its something you like, I doubt the price is going to get much better. I'd go for it if I was in that situation!

 

I know when we bought the wife's 09 Vibe a few weeks back we dealt with the same salesman that I used to buy my Sierra, and he said they have lots of ppl looking for 09s because of the rebates, but no trucks to sell them.

EDIT....a new possibility has come to light

 

Just got off the phone with the Manager...

 

Pontiac rebates are HUGE right now, and our store has a left-over 09 Solstice, Ragtop, 5 speed, Black

 

MSRP is $25,000

 

My price is $16,454 as of right now.

 

Spending $16xxx is alot easier to swallow than spending $26xxx

 

And yes, a Solstice is a complete turnaround from a Sierra 4x4. And yes, Pontiac is 100% finished.

 

I'll have to sleep on it. I don't know right now...I may do nothing at all.

 

My Manager is like me; we are always on the hunt for "deals;" new or used.

You know what cost less than both of those...nothing....nothing is free. I certainly wouldn't be buying a car or truck just cause it was a good deal. Unless I planned to sell it again and make some money on it.

I just bought my truck last week. 09 Sierra 1500 SL Crew Cab - stickered at $32,110. I drove it home for just under $23k with a spray in bedliner included!

I would take that deal, the economy is slowly picking up and it could be hard to find a deal that good later....

i also got GMS on mine, had to roll in a grand from the nox, but i couldn't pass it up, i was 31 ish got in thanksgiving weekend right before big deals ended here....
