Stuck On The Fence

i'm stuck on the fence on whether to replace my shocks/struts when i get tires or not to, the truck rides harsh i guess you could say, it dosen't bounce i just feel every bump in the road, but i have a feeling its just the way the suspension is suppose to ride, according to my RPO codes i have z85/z82 suspension..they are factory shocks, i crawled under to take a peek besides being rusted they seem to look ok, they are blue and yellow like bilsteins but have no brand or markers stamped on them, i did the bounce test and the truck barely moves lol

Sounds like you have Bilsteins... How many miles do you have? They just might need to be replaced.

I've got the same Z85 RPO and still on the stock shocks at 135K miles. Rides great still...which sucks because I have been wanting to replace the shocks but there's no point to it yet, ha.

how does your truck ride? mines smooth but i feel every damn bump, no bounce just every road defect...i did the bounce test over and over with no real evidence of needing new shocks...i've been trying to research what brand shocks GM put on this truck to look into the maker's replacement recommendation but i can't seem to find any hard evidence of what brand these shocks are...besides being yellow and blue i have no idea what they are

i'm running 35 pounds per tire, the thing i thought of it as my tires are beat, worn unevenly...

Your tires could be causing that. Mine rides pretty good, a little soft but not bad enough to where I need to replace them. I don't feel any bumps in the road but I do have brand new tires that are more for on-road use.
