I Went 6 Turns On My Torsion Key Bolts

6 Turns got me about an inch and a half....didnt change the ride at all. Looks better. Still has about 1"-1.5" of rake. Did have 2.5"

The z height max gm states is 4.8 inches. Superlift has 5.5 inches on some of there lifts specified. I'm at about 5.75"

FYI did the same exact thing on my old truck at 85,000 miles the guy that still has it says its got 200k miles and hasn't replaced any suspension components except a front right wheel bearing. So you all should be good!

I could still get my index finger in between the upper control arm and the upper control arm "droop stop". Not sure how much of a gap there is there stock....?????

Cool, did you get it aligned? Pics?

BTW how can i tell if my keys have been cranked any by the previous owner???

Look up z height....the Z height is supposed to be between 4.2-4.8 inches.

Directly from Superlift's 2.5" Level it torsion key kit....

"CAUTION: Do not exceed maximum ride height - Suspension extension travel is limited by the

rear leg of the upper control arm making contact with a factory metal frame bracket. As lift height

increases, the distance between these two points decreases. Distance between the rear leg and

the bracket must not be less than 5/8”. If extension travel is reduced further, ride quality will

suffer, and the upper ball joints will be subjected to increased loads."

Considering I could get my index finger between he control arm and the stop I figure I'm good. I consider super lift to be the most knowledgeable of suspension systems in terms of ride. They are the only company I have seen that specifies Z height adjustment in there lift instructions to keep from over indexing the torsions. Maybe my findings and experiences will help someone.

i had a 98' with torsion bars cranked allllll the way, with 2" blocks in the back. rode like shit but i never had to fix anything but balls joints. and they lasted 150k km's. i think GM is full of it. then my last truck i had them cranked about 6 turns same as yours never had one issue with front end, sold it it was still good with 160k kms on it. now the truck i got same thing about 6 turns...

Really considering cognitos upper control arms. They net 2" over factory of suspension droop. Its $150 for bilstein shocks, $470 for the control arms, and $80 for the limiting strap. So $700, to truly level a truck correctly. Good thing is if I ever decide to add a suspension lift I can use these control arms, considering most lift kits don't offer a full diff drop this will allow me to correct for that in the future.

The fact is I need about 1" of lift to level and if I crank anymore I will have ZERO suspension droop (which is what cause it to ride bad) And I get some cool @$$ shocks for the front :rollin:
