Chassis Lubrication

When doing the chassis lubrication, what all needs to be lubricated and with what type of grease?

There are two front end grease fitting (you can t miss them). Thats it for fittings. If you are looking for other things like door/hood hinges and stuff like that, look in the owners manual.

Geez my 2004 Tahoe has 11 fittings on the front end....you only have 2 !!!??

 

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic Grease GL-5 EP...

 

I do it at every oil change....generally around 8K (oil life system).

Everything is now "lubricated for life". Which means "we want to sell you more parts".

I'm sure GM's intentions were good(create less work for the do it your-selfer, make the customer happy, etc), they just made a bad engineering choice. It's been done before, it will be done again. I say, if it 'aint broke, don't fix it.

Do you mean that your oil life system activates around every 8,000 miles? What type of oil do you use?

Just looked today at the bottom of my 2010 1/2 ton silverado, 4x4 and all was able to see was tie rod grease fittings. At the wheel end only. So that is a total of two grease fittings for the whole truck. I lubed it with standard chassis grease using a hand operated grease gun. Does anyone see anymore and is there a service manual that is out there that will prove me wrong?
