Aftermarket Brakes...?

I need new front rotors and pads on my 07 Sierra. Factory ones are toast at 35k miles. And yes, i did try a Search but the results weren't great...

If you replaced your factory pads and/or rotors on your 2007-2010 Sierra/Silverado with aftermarket (aka- anything other than the junk the GM dealership uses), PLEASE let me know what brands you used and what results you've had??? Please include any specifics along with mileage and wear you've noticed. Thank you in advance!!!

I have no answer for you, sorry, but is it normal for the pads and rotors to wear out so soon?

I'm hard on my brakes, but from what I've read, GM is using a cheaper quality rotor and pad on these new trucks.

I had my rotors turned at 17k miles and now at 35k the rotors and pads are toast.

PowerSlot rotors and Hawk ceramic brake pads. Only had them about 5000 miles, but really nice so far. I'm not hard on my brakes but the factory rotors had hot spots all over them and were starting to warp with 50000 miles. $200 on good set of rotors is worth it to me, the metal they use is gotta be better than what GM uses. The slots and directional cooling fins are just an added benefit.

I put Brembo cross-drilled rotors on my '05 Suburban; there was an improvement in braking but I think next I'll go with after-market brake pads next. The stock setup was pretty weak.

I've only seen the Power Slot's for $120/each or more... where'd you buy yours?

Also.. anyone ever heard of or used 'Power Stop' rotors?

I have a gmt800 (1999 sierra) and the factory brakes/pads are great! 105,xxx miles on the first ones...previous owner had the pads replaced 5,000 miles ago

dont know if they are interchangeable (prolly not) but they work well, no squeaking, uneven braking, etc

Just goes to prove what a useless troll you are.

I'd go with powerslot rotors and EBC pads myself, much better stopping power than stock.

Raybestos have been working real well for me. I put on there top of line parts. So Rotors were less then $100 each and pads were like $50 or someting. Grab better and are smooth. Quality stuff. Slots and cross drilled is not needed a all.
