Top Tier Gas, Here Is A List Of Retailers

Been doing some surfing and came across this site. Top Tier Gas and it is interesting to see that Exxon/Mobil and BP are not listed.

 

It is interesting to see who is on the list. There are not many Shell stations around here. It is mainly BP, Exxon, Hess or small mom and pop stores like Handy Mart.

Doesn't BP now own Shell? All Shell stations within a large area of me were re-badged as BP within the last year.

I'd question the validity of the site. Who made this site? Is it owned by a petroleum group, that some of the "bad" gasolines did not pay to join?

We don't have any of those listed except for a Turkey Hill and its in Shippensburg which is pretty far away.

Call me crazy... but I'm going to have a hard time trusting any of this considering everyones gasoline comes from the same refining plants and put into proprietary trucks at the distribution centers. The only difference is the additive they put into the tank at the station... Im not going to lose sleep over this.

i know for a fact some of the stations listed on there run crap wholesale fuel, i ran alot of different fuel in my old truck and i could tell the difference in the quality by the way the truck performed...my current truck i swear by kwik trip gas, excelent stuff and fairly well priced

I dont know about all this stuff. Around here we have shell, marathon, BP, speedway, mobile, and speedy Q.

 

Mobile has good gas but they upcharge .08 for using your credit card at the pump, i never really cared for BP or marathon, Speedy Q is well known as cheap watered down gas, I put shell in the truck over speedway and I notice a little difference in my mpg's. I run speedway in the car because it doesnt really matter I need gas twice a week anyway.

I always buy from Road Ranger fuels, and they advertise being 'Top Tier'

yeah that is funny about no turkey hills by you Daryl Z71 Lancaster harrisburg area they are like wal marts ever town has to have 1 or 2 it seems the only gas iv ever gotten that was bad was sheetz my truck never liked it nor dose the s10

seems ligit, i'm definitely going to shell now, I mean they are actually using astm standardization tests which is far beyond what i expected to read.

 

I did notice mpg improvement with shell gas and thought it was a glitch. I swear they all get the same gas so it must be those additives put in at the station then? the same damn fuel truck leaves the same damn distribution center and half the time it's the same damn guy, lol.

Well, back when we used to get 92 here in California, I took my 77' to Arco. I generally as a rule, only used Chevron or 76 gas, but I figured the price was right so what the hell. I filled up my passenger tank, and took off. Everything was fine until I merged on the 101. The pinging was awful, so I let off the gas. I switched over to the driver side tank (76), gave it a couple of minutes, and floored it again. Nothing! Same procedure, switched back (Arco), pinging. That was enough for me to never go back to Arco. Maybe I just got a bad batch. I'm not sure, but I'm not going to try it again.
