Well we have been talking about getting a new car, looked into a impala, jetta, and now my wife is really set on this milan. All and all the car looks nice, I think they made a small body style change for 2010. We have yet to drive one, it was hard enough to get the truck to turn into the Ford dealer. I really dont know what to do about this, I have been so anti Ford, all I have ever owned is GM products.

I was already sold on a TDI jetta, my wife wants to stay american but the darn milan is built in mexico! I dont even know where to start but I do know when I have to go to the dealer to drive one of these I am going to be flying my GM flag!

Also a note, ford only offeres a 60,000 drivetrain warranty!

What about the Malibu? I really like the way they look and they have gotten some great reviews. The Jetta TDI rocks as well especially in the MPG department.

You also have to consider what she wants. The Milan is a nice ride as well. Maybe test ride all three and see which one works best?

I rented a Ford Fusion in Indy a few weeks ago.

It was actually a fairly nice car. Didn't look too shabby, and had some "pep" for a little 4-banger. I'm 6'5" and 250lbs and fit without too much problem. If I had to starting commuting a lot more and needed a little Econobox, I'd seriously consider it. Now I'd try hard to get a G8, but that's another thread . . .

My old lady has a 07 Impala (NBS). I know it's just the cheap "econo box" but it is a nice car. Roomy, powerful, and IMO looks good. The Malibu is also a VERY nice car. I wish we could have waited a year for those to come out, at least to see how we liked them.

Good luck on the hunt.

Lots of test drives to come, thats for sure.

She really liked the G6 and Aura but since those have got the axe she is in a protest GM mode. She does not like the Impala, or Malibu, and nothing buick. I am trying to get her to get into a CTS 4 but she is not really sold on a caddy. She actully likes the Jetta TDI but wants to stay american.

We are not really sure who is going to be drivng it, probably me since I drive 70 miles a day. We have the truck and a 05 sunfire that I refuse to sell since we bought it new and it now has 130,000 miles on it and runs/drives great. So I dont know if she will take the sunfire and I get the new car, or she gets the new car until the sunfire bits the dust. But at least the truck will be parked 90% of the time.

I say take a look at the Milan. I have never heard anything bad about the Milan or the Fusion. I think that Ford makes good products as well as some bad ones, no different than any other manufacturer.

One thing about the Jetta TDI is they have been know for random electrical issues. They also take a long time to heat up in the winter.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

What can I say GM F*CKED UP when they dropped Pontiac, and kept Buick..... I can't blame her for being upset with GM for giving the Pontiac badge the axe, and I can't blame her for not wanting a Buick.....

How bout it GM, got any answers....?

Am I the only one that really liked the outside of the G8, but when looked inside was really let down?

It doesnt scream pontiac, its worse then the overseas made GTO, and I liked them. Nothing on the inside looked like anything pontiac put together.

I think your truck is built in Mexico too.

What you need to do is tell her that you're the man of the house and what you say goes. Then say, "We're getting a Camaro, damn it!!"

Might consider the Taurus.. I finally saw a new 2010 Taurus the other day. (Boy they are sure not as popular around here as people say they are in other parts of the country) Not a bad lookin car at all, definitly a Crapota Camary and Honda Accord killer. Of course if you can find a low millage Crown Vic from 08 or 09 (can't remember the last year they stopped selling them to the public) that might work too. V-8 power, smooooooooooth ride, and RWD! Gets decent highway fuel economy as well.

The Jetta is built in Mexico also, in the Mexico City area. Paint quality is sometimes an issue.

What about the new Buick Regal? It's not available yet but will be here soon. And it has OnStar, something most women find pretty cool.

think your truck is built in Mexico too.

The only Mexican trucks are 1/2 ton crew cabs until later this year when they are being moved to Flint Truck Assembly. Extended cabs were Oshawa or Fort Wayne sourced.
