D.i.c - Customization Botton

Hi Guys

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra crew cab loaded, dvd, powersunroof and leather... i love it...

I have one issue....on my D.I.C the truck has for buttons....the 3rd one down doesnt work (customization button) I brought the truck to the local dealer and they told me this truck might not be equipted with that buttton option...but all the other 3 bottons work on the truck.

How can i find out if forsome reason this one button out of the four on my dash is not working or installed on my truck...

If your truck is loaded there is no reason that the button should not work. Have them replace it. If out of warranty then you can buy and do it yourself it is about $80. My truck did not come with those buttons and I added them myself it is plug and play and they all work.

the 80 bucks s for the panel and the switch, The switch itself is about 20 bucks

that dealer is kinda dumb....it is either the 4 button switch, or the basic trip set switch...

The different buttons on the DIC just change the value of a resistor in the DIC switch. You have a bad button assembly. If its under warranty just ask for a new one. If not buy a new switch-there not that much. If three buttons work, it has to be the switch- check the electrical drawings.,

Gil85: How exactly did you go about adding the dic to your truck. I have an 08 GMC Sierra SLE and would like to add the dic onto it and was curious as to how you do it. Is the wiring harness already there? Is it just a simple plug and play type deal? Thanks in advance

these freakin dealers never cease to amaze me. I would have flipped if they would have nonchalantly said, maybe your truck isn't equipped for that button to work. Maybe if they put more effort into things when you have a question you would consider visiting them for a $50 oil change.....

I find more often than not in dealerships whatever they may be cars/trucks/motorcycles.... They know little to nothing about the product they are selling, and in some instances if you either A. already bought from them, or B. bought the truck used somewhere else.... the support is not there; because they can't answer your question or cannot be bothered with your measely questions.

Then they are pissed when you don't have service done there, or buy from them.

If you treat me like I don't exist; when you need me to be there, I won't.
