I have set of chromes rims with some rust. I thought about using a copper steel wool pad and wd40. I think the wheels are made US Wheel. There called Chrome Blade Steel Wheels. If anybody has any better ideas please post your advice or comments. They 16.5 8 lug wheels.S5000321.jpg

I've cleaned/ polished chrome using 00 steel wool, being copper doesn't make much difference from what I can tell, it's the size that matters.

Here's 2 pictures of before and afterwhen using liquid wrench and copper steel wool.

FYI: after you get that rust knocked down I'd paint the inside surface with POR-15 or some other rust inhibitor.

Noxon #7 is great stuff for the rust removal, although for polishing I use nevr-dull or No.7 Chrome polish works well also

Just to let you know, you are no longer going to have "chrome" anymore. The rust has come through the chrome plating and by knocking the rust off the chrome plating went with it. at this point i would have them sandblasting and powdercoated.

Already knew about loosing the chrome when removing the rust. I'm holding off on powder coating til I get all 4 rims polished and see how they look. I got quote for 260 bucks to get them sand blasted and powder coated here locally.
