Best Tonneau Cover, Does It Exist?

looking for a soft, fold/rollable cover. i do not want to spend over a grand to get a fiberglass, which makes the bed useless at times. im looking for over the rail, low-profile, dependable lockable cover. im from california so extreme cold isnt much of a problem unless im up in the mountains, which is rare. ive searched all over and remember seeing a thread, but cannot find it. my budget would be around 400, heard good things about truxedo and extang. what do you guys have and what would you recommend? and also, would it work with line x bedliner? thanks

Best is determined by your opinion. I've currently got the Extang full tilt cover and believe it to be the best I've ever owned (I've owned alot). I've never had the folding kinds so that debates still out. Personally I don't like seeing the folds or puckers from the tri-flip covers. I like a nice smooth line down the side.

Extangs cover and frame are bulit tough, you can remove the tailgate section where others can't, and has a good rubber seal, not the foam type. Also go on/off in one piece in seconds and easy to handle with 1 person. Others I've owned can't do that as well. To me, it's the best all around cover I've owned. :lurk:

I like the revolution cover, but wanted something with tilt action.. :lurk:

I like the smoother look of it than my full tilt, but I guess you just can't have it all.. :D

I have the Truxedo Lo Pro QT, first cover I've ever owned and I love it. It looks great, it's easy to open, easy to remove the header/ tarp with no tools needed, no drilling. No bows are visible and so far it seems to stay tight (I've only had it a couple months).

This is the thread to read!!

BTW....Truxedo LoProQT all the way. The only issue is it doesn't cover the rails like you mentioned above. And it can be had for $350 off of eBay. Just read the thread linked above!

Agreed MAsZ71...the Truxedo LoPro QT is great! I purchased mine a couple of months ago and it was easy to install and looks very sharp. It has a good locking mechanism as well that could prove to be beneficial if you have a locking tailgate as I do. I think it is the best way to go. And the link that is in that thread really does work. The guy who sells them can't say they are a name brand but when it arrives at your door "Truxedo" is written all over the box. Definitely good stuff!

I love my Truxedo Lo Pro. Is it better than the Extang??? I can't say that. I don't think you can go wrong with either cover. Both are very high quality and fit great. I just got a great deal on the Truxedo and I have not been disappointed.

Gotta love the threads, "Whats the Best" :lurk: 50 different answers, research and just pick one. :D

Yes, there is definitely "the best" tonneau cover out there. There is also the "worst doctor" out there somewhere, and somebody has an appointment to see that doctor! :lurk:
