i just have to ask why? in a world full of cell phones cb is dead technology

Depends on why you have it.

If you off-road with a club, communicating from vehicle to vehicle is easier with a CB than with a cell-phone.

When we travel with friends, I have an extra CB I temporarily place in their vehicle. On our last road trip (approximately 5000km trip), a lot cheaper than using cell phones to communicate.

And those small FRS radios are useless.

Good for talking to opposite traffic ( 18 wheelers) on road trips. They will let you know what the road ahead has in store (cops, traffic). By the way nice install but like hockeypro1411 make sure its tuned, buy you a meter and check.

yeah i got it tuned... i use it because all of my freinds have them and its good for offroading and just driving around talking... i also enjoy talking to truckers and listening to what they say.. it keeps me awake on long trips.. IMO its a good investment

ah i gotcha, wasent knocking it...the majority of truckers i deal with use cells with dushetooths..just curious

haha you mean bluetooth? if so i agree that it is extremely gay.. people think they are so cool walking around screaming into an earpiece.. meanwhile they look like jackasses

Something funny about 1960s hillbilly technology (CB) next to an ipod!!

I have a CB in my truck, with an antenna NMO permanent mount on the roof. I usually have the cap on, but when I'm going on a trip I screw the antenna on to listen to the truckers.

CB's are fun to mess with, and if you have a nice setup.... you can even shoot skip to other countries, or just other states. I used to run a Cobra 29LTD Classic w/ an 800W linear on it, and a Merlin Double Coil.... that was setup for a std cab truck specifically.... I have a whole closet full of old CB's just cuz.
