6" Lift, 35's, And Towing

Anyone doing it? I am trying to see how much I will loose by throwing this combo on my 08 CC 4WD 6.0 with 4.10's. I was all about going leveling with 33's, but now I am thinking.

How big of a trailer? How often are you towing it? How far? Any steep grades?

LOL....You stalking me? Right now, nothing. I am however am planning on buying another travel trailer around 25-30ish feet and I am also planning on buying another boat around a 28' Cabin Cruiser. As for steep hills, maybe, depending on how far I go with the trailer. We do like going to TN and the east coast are to the mountains.

I towed 6500 lbs every weekend for a while with my 2003 5.3, 4.10 gears with 6" lift and 315's. I'd think your truck could handle it just fine.

Yeah, all my towing was with my 06 duramax 2500 and then with my 06 duramax 3500.....God I miss both of those trucks....

Mine has a 5.3l 3.73 gears and it will down shift out of OD on the slightest of hills with 33s it did fine but with these 35s and 20s it will probably struggle a bit

i have a '08 vortec max with 4.10s and 35's. i had to tow a 4500lb tractor with a 2000lb tandem trailer, around back roads back to my parents house. the truck seemed to do ok, but that was the only time i wished i had 4.56's.

So your recommendation is stick with the 33's? I really dont want to regear.

i don't think it's going to be a tremendous difference between 33's and 35's when your towing a 30 foot trailer. if you tow often i would go with 4.88's and 35's

When I first lifted my truck, I ran 33" tires and towed the same trailer I did when I swapped to 315's. There wasn't much different between the 2 sizes and towing, but the 35" tires did leave me wanting a little more grunt sometimes. I know, had I kept the truck I would have re-geared to 4.56's not because I had to, but because I wanted more.
