Another Standard Equipment Item

I just found out that the CD player that came standard on every GM truck in 2009 is now optional on base trucks for 2010. Another sneaky move by GM to decontent the vehicles.

But what about a ipod or mp3 jack? I couldn't tell you the last time I listened to a CD so I wouldn't really care one way or another. Aren't CD's pretty much out of the picture for music now anyways?

It was nice that even the most basic work trucks had a CD player. Now GM has joined Ford and Dodge in providing AM-FM radio only in those trucks. I am waiting to see AM radio only in the base 2011 models, and CD optional even on LT1s.

yeah.. i dont really know anyone who still uses CD's anymore.. i have a CD player and i never use it..

still annoying GM would do that though...

Yeah, but what is the point if they are not used. Are you pissed off that they stopped putting in cassette players too?

Nothing sneaky about it.... you need to stop assuming everyone is out to get you!

Hate to tell you this, but for YEARS there were nothing but AM/FM in work and fleet trucks. Adding the CD player as standard only happened for a couple years just recently anyway.

I havent used the cd player in my 08 Tahoe or 10 Silverado

Who buys a base truck anyways

Shit...I wish you could buy a truck with a radio DELETE option.

Sell me a truck where I can put a new stereo in it without worrying about how it interfaces with OnStar or my damn airbags for cryin' out loud.

/uses his CD player every day

I concur with this statement.

Perhaps the WT Chevrolet Cheyenne is what we need in America.

Well...My problem with my own suggestion is this...I want EVERY OTHER OPTION AVAILABLE.

I just don't want their crappy Bose or shitty Nav system. Aftermarket solutions sound 10x better (MAN I hate Bose), perform better, and are much more user friendly. And since all that crap is integrated with the truck...Replacing them with aftermarket is problematic at best. Audio/video sticking it's nose into other areas of my vehicle's systems pisses me off.

I don't think I can order a W/T with a heated steering wheel and cooled seats :D

I use my CD player when there is NOTHING on the radio but talk........ So, yeah it would piss me off if it was not in the truck.... But who buys one with only standard equipment?????? Gottta get it fully loaded..
