Problem With Dash

Hi. Hope someone can give me some help.

 

I have an 07 Silverado CC LTZ. Tonight, my dash went haywire. The gauges all peg to the right except the temp gauge...it looks right. The gear shift indicator is not working either

 

The DIC (?) was flashing strage sequences of letters. The radio was turning on/off by itself. I lost control of the A/C...could not turn it up, down, or off. None of the buttons worked...power off, rear window defrost, fan, temp, pass side control, etc.

 

Has anyone else had this happen?

I have heard that this could be a BCM malfunction. Perhaps someone else will know for sure. I do know that one of the trucks in the fleet at work had all of the gauges go crazy like this and the BCM was to blame.

Sounds like you may have lost the ground. I had a Olds 442 that the tach went crazy and the ground was loose. May be wrong, but who knows.

Went out, this morning, to get a Sunday newspaper. All 4 of my cluster gauges (Alt, Oil, Temp, Fuel) were almost pegged to the right. When I would shut off the truck, they would return to about half mast. The tach and speedometer were both working okay. Drove to the golf course and the problem was still there. Nothing else, except the gauges way over-reading.

 

When I returned home, I unhooked the negative battery cable and then reconnected it. Seems to have worked. I'll drive about 150 miles, tomorrow morning, and will see if the problem recurs.

 

Anyone else had an issue with this?????

Went to the store later today. Gauges still messed up. And, now I don't have the DIC or gear indicators. Guess I'll be heading to the GM dealer first thing tomorrow morning. Thank goodness, I've only just turned over 30,000 and still am under warranty.

I had something simillar happen to mine. All the guages and lights on the dash would flash on and off a few times along with the door locks opening and closing. This happened twice before the dealer replaced the negative battery cable. They were at a loss until they read a few tech bulletins about this issue happening on the Tahoes.

Limp...looks like your symptoms are very similar to mine. I took my truck into the dealer first thing Friday morning and they kept all day. When I went to pick it up, they told me they have to order a new cluster and it should arrive later this week. Everything is working fine now though so I'm not sure what they did to get the gauges to stop pegging.

 

They did tell me they could not replicate the issue I had had with the HVAC controls though.

This sounds like a similar problem we had in our Caravan, our Speedometer went completely haywire and the transmission went into limp in mode. turned out to be a speed sensor dying. just my Two cents worth of info!

The more crap they throw into these trucks, the more things that will go wrong.
