New Truck Brakes?

Why can't GM figure out how to make great braking system on there trucks??? I was recently in a rental Dodge Ram with hemi 2010 great truck lots of power even better BRAKES!! This is embarrasing never liked Dodge had some bad experience with them but now things have changed!! I drove the hell out of the rental as you should always do anyways!! No brake shutter like warped rotors but my truck less than 5000km already slight warpage feel in brake pedal. I have not driven my truck even close to as hard as the Dodge. What the hell!! Gm needs to address this as I like to drive aggressive!! Looks like I will have to upgrade brake system as this will be expensive!! I am pretty anal I like everything to be perfect!!

Oh hell yea!!! But the problem is size they are to small we need big brakes for big trucks. I dont know about you guys but where I live we have what is called brake mashing driver syndrom!!! Most people in Calgary,Ab Canada do not know how to drive!!!

I have been in many of the U.S. states and driving is a joy!!! The last place I drove was in vegas about a year ago it was great easy a pleasure and go figure I was the new person to area!!! Anyway just my 2 cents my driving experience in the U.S. has always been a joy but I like to go fast!!! No my Truck likes to go fast!!! hahahaha!!!

Also my 2001 silveraldo had 4 wheel disk brakes which were horrible I went through 4 rears 3 fronts in about 5 yrs??? Big wheels lead foot!!! I know you gonna play then you are gonna PAY!!!

I think that the brake parts that are put on by GM are just junk. It seems like everyone on here has had or is having problems with them. Somebody needs to figure out a way to get some higher quality parts on these trucks from the factory.

Hell yea!! Lets get after them gm engieers get er done!!

 

Why should we have to pay a bunch of money for a bear brake upgrade wth the 6 piston caliper and 14 in rotor should be factory!!! The rear disks were nice just not big enough go figure my 2001 had not my 2009 have drums??? So they went up then back down??? Why not go big then they have to put at least 20 inch wheels none of this 17 or 18 inch crap!!

I think you are indeed the common denominator....my 02 is still on the factory brakes at 91K. Maybe a defensive driving course could be the answer... :tear:

IDK about that. I go really easy on my brakes and they shake already. Now it's not an 02 though so may be different, but I think it's just because GM used cheap parts.

My truck pulsates at high speeds - about 70 mph when I apply the brakes. The whole truck pulsates but I don't feel it in the steering wheel or in the pedal. The front rotors were turned about 2 weeks ago and it improved it but the issue is still there. GM called to see how is I was satisfied with my service and I said eveything was good but I still have this issue. It's better but it's still there. She had the service manager call me back the next day and we scheduled an appointment for tomorrow. We'll see what they do about it this time. (brakes started pulsating around 6000 miles and had the rotors turned at about 9000 miles) I do not drive the truck hard - I drive it the same as my other car and my previous truck and I've never had this issue.

Don't you understand that cheap parts from China is the way of the world? LOL But there is absolutely nothing wrong w/ the 4 wheel disc setup on earlier 800 models w/ the exception of the parking brake.

Lol Yea I agree with that. Everything you pick up in the store anymore is made in China.
