2001 6.0l Ecm Upgrades

As I stated in the title, I've got a 2001 1500HD /w the 6.0L.

 

I was wondering if GM releases ECM software updates for these motors, if so, how much would a dealer charge to hook it up and update the software, if there is software updates, what are usually contained within the update?

Alot of us get a aftermarket performance tune upgrade, which can vary, but most will say that the 6.0L motors are pretty undertuned from the factory. Most of the good tuners will also include updated GM info with their tunes. I got a tune from Charlie Wheatley and really like it. Other have used Blackbear, Nelsons, with good results. Also since your truck is out of warranty you don't have to worry about GM voiding it! Hope this helps.
