Anyone Run Black Spare Wheels

Does anyone run the black aluminum spare wheels on their truck. I'll bet with some chrome luge they might just work.

You talking about the Avalanche spare wheels? There's a guy here who had/has them and they look pretty good.

I had the same thoughts. My 07 1500 has a really nice Enki aluminum black wheel for the spare tire, and my buddys 02 Tahoe has the same one. Bet they would look real good.

If this is the same spare rim we have on our 09 Sierra ( a seven spoke black aluminum) rim I would certainly like more information about them. Are they 17in? antone know where they can be purchased beside a GMC dealer?

Yes 17" and you could find them at the junk yard/recycler I am sure.

I agree. Once we get back to Casa Grande in November I'm going to start seeing about purchasing them from our dealer in Coolridge or searching for them at used parts places.

Not all trucks have an aluminum spare wheel,some have a steel spare wheel.

The SPID label in the glovebox will actually tell you what wheel you have,Look for one of two RPO codes....

N86 - 17" FULL SIZE ALUMINUM SPARE WHEEL

NZ4 - 17" FULL SIZE STEEL SPARE WHEEL

Also the aluminum spare wheel is 7" wide,where as the steel spare wheel is 7.5" wide.

Well that could make a difference, them being only 7in. wide. I know my stock 265/70/17 will fit the 7in. rim okay but that could limit tire changes in the future.

That isn't bad looking at all! I need to go out and see what my truck came with as it has the 18" wheels. Would it still have the 17" spare?
