Hi

i was thinking of two options to modify my 2010 GMC regular cab z71

1) super charge my 5.3 engine with full bolt ons

2) replace the engine with a 6.2 engine with full bolt ons

im not really sure which one would be more fun , i need a daily driver monster

Supercharger is about 10x simpler to install.

Yeah BUT

Supercharging the 6.2 would be the hot ticket!

I would have suggested that...But it wasn't on his list of options.

Supercharger installs really are pretty dang easy. Everybody should do it

i dont think a 6.2L swap would be too difficult in a 2010...

I would do the 6.2L

#1 you'll have more power than a sc'd 5.3L

#2 you'll have the ability to add a sc down the road to the 6.2

#3 it'll be unique... tell someone at the track you have a sc'd 5.3L and they'll say "cool. my grandma and sister in law have them too". .... tell them you did a 6.2L swap and it'll be a completely different reaction

I vote 6.2 swap then swap the transfer case for a Denali AWD version.... build the "SS" Truck that Gm should have built

Many of the mounts will have to be changed over for the 6.2L swap. Justin was going to change his 6.0L for the 6.2L and wound up just changing out the heads.
