Evolution Of The Pickup

The pickup like the car has evolved beyond our wildest dreams. The sad part being with all the technological advances now they all look the same with little choice to personalize. You used to be able to choose between 4 to 5 different trim levels, at least that many interior color choices and then all the two tone options. There isn't much excitement with the new pickups now because they are all the same colors, all the same options, clones of each other. This is unfortunately another example of change and we haven't seen the last of it. When I get surveys I do share this information in hopes it might be taken with more than a grain of salt. I have vented!

I made mine look different, but even before that I thought there were quite a few ways to change it up/personalize it.

i think the point is that we should be able to customize it from the factory moreso than we can nowadays, which allows us to keep our warranties- which would be sweet.

Shouldn't this thread be called "The pussification of pickups" instead? Trucks full of denutted "men" running around complaining about a rattle, some lint on the seats, or heaven forbid... a rough ride... have basically denutted the pickup truck as we one knew and loved it.

Now we have to have soft, smooth, car-like trucks for these sissified men so that they don't soil their delicate little soft hands...

NOT that I have an opinion.

I couldn't agree more.

Trucks should be built to order. First I want a manual transmission. Second, I should be able to get vinyle bucket seats and rubber floor mats along with heated mirrors and cruise control if I so desire. And yes I really would order a new truck like that if I could. Stupid packages!
